Privacy Policy and Notice

Decatre is committed to handling your personal information responsibly and transparently. Below you will find, in plain language, what we collect, how we use it, with whom it is shared, and how to reach us about your data. This policy took effect on September 18, 2026.

Information We Collect

The personal information we handle falls into these groups: (1) contact and identity data such as your name, email, postal addresses and phone number; (2) transaction data — what you bought, when, and the payment method used, with card details handled entirely by Shopify Payments (powered by Stripe) and never stored by us in full; (3) correspondence, including support requests, return forms and product reviews; (4) technical data collected automatically — IP address, device and browser information, pages visited and how you interact with them, via cookies described in our Cookie Policy; and (5) your marketing choices.

Our store runs on Shopify, which hosts the Site and processes orders on our behalf. This policy applies to information collected through decatre.com, by email and our contact and return forms.

Data Retention

Retention is tied to purpose: transaction data stays for 7 years (tax and warranty), support tickets for 3 years, marketing consent records until you opt out plus a suppression record so we do not contact you again, and technical logs for up to 12 months. After that, we delete or anonymize the data unless we must keep it for a legal claim or a statutory obligation.

Who We Share Data With

We do not sell your personal information, and we share it only as needed to run our business: with Shopify (platform hosting, checkout and order management); payment processors (Shopify Payments (powered by Stripe) and the payment methods you choose) to authorize payments and prevent fraud; shipping carriers and fulfillment partners such as USPS, UPS and JS Express located in the United States, China and the European Union, who receive your name, address and phone number to deliver your order; tracking, email and customer service tools that help us communicate with you; analytics and advertising partners (such as Google and Meta) that process usage data through cookies as described in our Cookie Policy; and authorities or advisers when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect rights and safety. If the business is sold or merged, customer data may be transferred to the successor under the same commitments.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used for the purposes for which you gave it and for related purposes you would reasonably expect: fulfilling and shipping orders and keeping you informed about them; answering questions and resolving problems; detecting and preventing fraudulent transactions; meeting our legal and accounting obligations; understanding how the Site is used so we can improve it; and marketing, only where you have agreed or where the law allows us to contact existing customers about similar products, always with an easy way to opt out.

Security

We protect personal information with technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk: the Site is served over HTTPS/TLS, payments are processed by PCI-DSS certified providers, access to customer data is limited to people who need it, and our platform providers maintain independent security certifications. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security; if a breach affecting your data occurs we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

Minors

We do not sell to or knowingly collect data from children under 13 (COPPA). Should we learn that we hold information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we delete it. Parents or guardians who have concerns can reach us at contact@decatre.com.

Newsletter and Promotional Emails

If you subscribe to our newsletter or make a purchase, we may send you promotional emails about products, offers and news from Decatre. Every marketing email identifies us as the sender, includes our postal address (2617 Deerford Street, Lakewood, CA 90712, United States) and contains an unsubscribe link; opt-out requests are honored within 10 business days, as required by the CAN-SPAM Act, and you will continue to receive transactional emails about your orders. You can also unsubscribe by writing to contact@decatre.com.

Privacy Rights for U.S. Residents

Regardless of the state you live in, you can ask us to: access the personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate information; delete your information (subject to legal retention); receive a portable copy of it; and opt out of marketing, of targeted advertising cookies (on the Cookie preferences page), and of any sale or sharing of your data (we do not sell it). We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. Send requests to contact@decatre.com with the subject "Privacy request"; we verify your identity using the email associated with your orders and respond within 45 days. If we decline a request, we explain why and you may appeal by replying to our response. Residents of California may also have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, Civ. Code § 1798.100 et seq., and may contact the California Attorney General if an appeal is denied. Do Not Track: our Site does not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals, but we honor Global Privacy Control opt-out signals for targeted advertising where technically supported.

Policy Changes

This policy is reviewed regularly. When we change it, the new version is posted here with a new effective date; significant changes are also communicated by a notice on the Site or by email. We encourage you to check this page from time to time.
